“Those two Darlin’ tracks are a daft punky thrash,” said Melody Maker magazine writer, Dave Jennings. Little did he know, his negative review of Darlin’s work would amuse both Thomas Bangalter and Guy Manuel de Homem-Christo, pushing them to disband their rock n’ roll group and experiment with drum machines & synthesizers instead.
Fast forward almost 25 years – the duo have won a number of awards, performed at the biggest venues around the world, and achieved feats that other musicians can only dream of. And to think, the robotic project only began in 1993.
With smash hit releases, like One More Time, Da Funk, Robot Rock, Face to Face, and most recently, Get Lucky, one would believe that Daft Punk’s exposure would stop there. Think again – to honor Daft Punk’s contributions to music, we’re going to revisit some of the latest and greatest remixes of the French pair’s work. Tune in below and let us know your thoughts.
