The maestro of UK Garage, New Jersey originated, Todd Edwards, is a name that has travelled all over the globe. If you have not heard his vast catalog of original productions, you have certainly heard his dulcet contributions to Daft Punk’s Face To Face and Fragments of Time.
In addition to collaborations with other French artists such as Surkin, he has also contributed remixes in recent years for Frenchman Para One and ETIENNE DE CRÉCY.
With a vast remix catalog spanning multiple decades, it’s no surprised that Todd set his sights on iconic French band Phoenix. Although Todd most recently created his own spin on Entertainment, a track off of Phoenix’s most recent record, he first took on the most iconic track off their first album United entitled If I Ever Feel Better.
His original remix came out on the single of the track in 2001 that also featured a remix of Crydamoure affiliated The Buffalo Bunch. Although labeled as the “Todd Edwards’ Better Dub”, the remix does include a less pronounced incorporation of Thomas Mars’ vocals.
However, the version of the track featured here is a vocal heavy iteration released by Todd Edwards on his own Soundcloud. Todd’s iconic vocal chopping prowess is on full display, and is a marked upgrade over the official release. We are happy to see it made the light of day. Give it a listen below!
