Our first band on the list? It’s Brooklyn-based act, argonaut&wasp. The musicians certainly aren’t strangers to The French Shuffle, with features for songs, Paradise and Loser Like You, in the past. But today, we shine light on holistic work from the dazzling disco troop.

French Horn Rebellion
Is it a coincidence that two Brooklyn-based acts top our list? Maybe. But, one thing is certain – Brooklyn has soul. That’s the case with argonaut&wasp and it’s certainly the case with disco duo, French Horn Rebellion.
Really, the funk fiends have consistently delivered over the years, with three LPs and several EPs on the books. And, what’s most impressive is that the group isn’t slowing down at all.

Miami Horror
This list wouldn’t be complete without an appearance from Australian band, Miami Horror. There’s just something incredibly special about the Melbourne-based act and we can’t get enough of it.
To be frank, when a Miami Horror song comes on, plan on being lost somewhere between intoxicating disco grooves and smooth synth-work. Don’t believe me? Well, too bad, they’re just that good.

Midnight To Monaco
Who knew doo-wop, disco and new wave could sound amazing together? We sure didn’t. It wasn’t until self-described “beach boys” Midnight To Monaco entered the scene. The result? A wave of generation-bending musical masterpieces.

Don’t disregard disco edits. Irish group, Mix & Fairbanks, are the best in the game when it comes to breathing new life into vintage music. When they’re on the scene, there’s no doubt that you’ll be dancing. Think old school meets new school with these two talents.

Moi Je
Ready for some French disco? We hope so because Crosswalk Records superstars, Moi Je, will be the latest add to your disco collection. Trust us, if their shimmering guitars and sensual vocals don’t captivate you, their glitzy leads will.

Pablo J & The Lobsterettes
When Pablo J & The Lobsterettes released smash hit, Brenda, we instantly became fans. With all of that disco goodness, who could say no to the sounds of these Sydney natives?
Though Brenda was without a doubt brilliant, let’s not forget the other lead track from that very same EP, Dance Till The Dawn. It has all of the same disco flair as Brenda, but with more soul-inspired accents.

Parcels
If you’ve never heard of Parcels, you’ve definitely been missing out. Since their inception, they’ve signed to music collective Kitsuné, released an EP and several singles, collaborated with Daft Punk and much more.
If that doesn’t impress you, their music surely will. Fans of Phoenix, Daft Punk and Two Door Cinema Club shouldn’t miss this.

Patawawa
In our interview with Matlock-based band, Patawawa, the group talked about their inspirations – Stevie Wonder, Jackson 5, Marvin Gaye, The Arctic Monkeys included – and it all makes perfect sense. Repeatedly, the group manages to blend soul, funk, disco and indie dance together in the smoothest of ways. And, we’d have to say, we love every bit of it.

Poolside
Poolside energy is exactly how we’d describe Poolside’s music. Low key vibes? Check. Disco-funk trinkets? Check. Laidback leads? Check. It’s as if Midnight To Monaco took a hiatus from beach music and decided to kick back at the pool for good.

The Swiss
We first discovered The Swiss in 2013 when Elouisa was released. And, ever since then, we’ve been avid fans. Although the group hasn’t released a ton of new material in recent years, their funk will never fade. Tracks, like In The City and Movement IV, are certainly signs of that.

Wild & Free
And last, but not least, we have Wild & Free. Having signed with funk fueled label, Discotexas, the Los Angeles group have already made quite a name for themselves. With tropical spirit and soulful swing, this duo impresses with the most relaxed, yet highly electrifying sounds.
