Review: Tiga – No Fantasy Required LP

It has been roughly seven years since Turbo Recordings founder, Tiga, publicly released hit album, Ciao, which features some of his highest regarded tracks, including Shoes and Mind Dimension 2. While Ciao was certainly a success, Tiga has still managed to take a different approach in sound, with his most recent album taking the full techno route – and it works extremely well.

Opening with debut single, No Fantasy Required, Tiga lays down a soft instrumental, tainted with his own superiorly haunting vocals, just before rocketing straight into Make Me Fall In Love, a track that would be remixed by Tiga and Audion thereafter.

Undisputed bangers, 3 Rules and Always, nonetheless follow the latter singles, with 3 Rules ruling the roost with its well inclined lyricism and intriguing rhythms. We also see several of Tiga’s older singles make their return, with eccentrically produced Plush and Pusha T feature, Bugatti, holding the limelight.

No Fantasy Required is definitely an album worth waiting for, although in some cases the sounds are quite vast and relentless. Stream the album sampler below and download a copy of the album here.
