This is what we have all been waiting for – the return of the highly acclaimed, Canadian electro-techno duo, MSTRKRFT. After nearly a five year hiatus, the pair have finally stepped back into the limelight, and with a metallic treat.
Full of modular glory, the newest concoction from the Last Gang Records artists, Little Red Hen, strikes as a lovely evolution of sound, building on previous releases, like Back in the USSA and Beards Again. It definitely lacks the structure that listeners are used to hearing from the group, but it is a nice change of pace, with the Toronto talents delivering a wall of filthy, transformative noise.
UPDATE: According to MSTRKRFT’s Twitter account, it seems that Little Red Hen is a single from an album created by MSTRKRFT – no set release date yet, however. See below for details.
