Review: Madame – Perc99 EP

As Gesaffelstein ends his live tour, Madame has risen to satisfy our cravings for that aggressive, dark techno sound in new EP, Perc99. The EP is Madame’s second release on Boys Noize Records, following up on 2014 hits, Shuffle and Gigabytes.

Previously featured on GND and Blood Music, Madame has made his presence widely known in the French techno scene. Tune in below as we chat about his new release.

Title track, Perc99, is a never ending assault on the eardrums with a relentless kits and banging kicks. Second single, Overheat, eerily resembles SebastiAn’s classic Motor EP, heavily indebted to its slow builds and powerful percussion.

And finally, Glory plays out as a slowed down version of his 2013 release, Voltage. It sees the producer use the same vocal samples, but with a consistent pulsating beat.

With support from label heads, Jimmy Edgar and Destructo, and widely known producers (including Dillon Francis and Dave Clarke), Madame is poised to become a mainstay and a regularly featured artist on The French Shuffle.

Stream Perc99 below and download it here. Out now via BNR Trax.
