Atrey, the intentional “outsider”, claiming to be “one of the last direct descendants of the French golden era of electronic music”, has conjured up yet another synthsation with his newly released (at least to Soundcloud) “Bodytalk”.

The track begins with a bass line that screams, or should I say hoots and grunts, the legendary, deceased pop icon Michael Jackson. It particularly resembles the Hip-Hop/New Jack Swing work that surfaced during the Bad and Dangerous eras.

It doesn’t escalate much from beginning to end; a beautifully simplistic, casual, sexy rhythm that never grows tiresome. The rest of the “Bodytalk” EP maintains this characteristic, and is perfectly suited for tastes that prefer an “old-school” approach to dance music.
