Glo-fi, Vaporwave, Seapunk, this particular genre bares many identities and is often frowned upon by the general music community for its easiness to produce and the fact that it “glorifies plagiarism”.
Not all music that fits under this genre is obsolete, in fact, a lot of it takes significant musical talent and aesthetic vision. Future Girlfriend, a fairly new talent that describes themselves as “Synth Wave/Pop”, has proved that this genre should be celebrated and enjoyed for its reintroduction of forgotten rhythms to modern ears.
This particular track has both vintage feels and current appeal, making it an ideal example. The entire E.P. that this track is listed on is variant in approach, making it sort of a “sampler” to newbie listeners.
