So, Satin Jackets’s own Tim Bernhardt recently travelled to Norway to collaborate with fellow label artists, Atella and Cavego. Little did he know, he would fall in love with the “land of the midnight sun” and create his latest single, Northern Lights.
The nu disco release has been making serious rounds over the past week, dazzling listeners with cosmic pop rhythms and unique disco flavor, and we can’t get enough of it. Just yesterday, the track even topped the Hype Machine charts, narrowly beating NoMBE’s Can’t Catch Me and La Felix’s I Wanna Know for the prime sport.
Here’s a brief background on Satin Jackets’s inspiration behind the new track:
“After experiencing a world known for its Northern Lights, I wanted to take that concept and run with it, asking myself how we could reflect this phenomena in music,” says Tim Bernhardt of Satin Jackets. “Despite a busy schedule, I couldn’t help but take a day off and go on a trip exploring the country and the depths and beauty of one of the Fjords in the area. It was absolutely breath-taking.”
