Yelle’s Synth-Pop Comeback: Interpassion

For many years, French act, Yelle, has impressed, delivering spirited electro-pop and nu disco numbers. We first heard of the trio back in 2007, when Pop Up smashed the electronic dance charts in the U.S. and France.

Singles, like À Cause des Garçons (TEPR Remix) and Je Veux Te Voir, were (and, to be honest, still are) mainstays in our music collection, and we knew Yelle was destined for more success. Fast forward several years – Safari Disco Club and Complètement Fou continued to dazzle listeners, this time transitioning to more tropical inspirations and lighter synths.

Now, Yelle has once again taken the reigns in the synth-pop world, releasing cool, calm, and collected track, Interpassion. Admirers of TEPR, Mr. Flash, Yuksek, or Teenage Bad Girl will enjoy this.

What begins as a formulaic, analog-driven work quickly breaks the mold, revealing Yelle’s seductive lyrics. With both French and English vocal rinses, the Saint-Brieuc-based singer hypnotizes listeners with her thoughtful, yet captivating energy.

Listen to Interpassion now and download it here. Out now via Yelle’s own record label, Recreation Center.
