Best Remixes of Gorillaz

Gorillaz are an English electronic rock and trip hop group, winning countless awards over the 18 years that they’ve been active for, including the Grammy in 2006 for best Pop Collaboration with “Feel Good Inc.” and two MTV VMAs in the year before for the same track.

However, it has been honestly long overdue, that we’ve seen new material from the star-studded virtual band, with rumors circulating that their return could be sooner than we think. To celebrate, here are some of their best remixes, chosen by us.

List of Best Remixes of Gorillaz:

  1. Gorillaz – Feel Good Inc. (Professor Kliq Remix)
  2. Gorillaz – Empire Ants (Miami Horror Remix)
  3. Gorillaz – Kids With Guns (Hot Chip Remix)
  4. Gorillaz – Dare (Soulwax Remix)
  5. Gorillaz – El Mañana (Metronomy Remix)

Feel Good Inc. (Professor Kliq Remix)

It’s an oldie… But a track that could be somewhat, funkier, compared to the original. Released four years ago, Chicago-based musician, Professor Kliq, lays down the heat with this stellar remix of one of Gorillaz most notable tracks. We love it and we think you will too…

Empire Ants (Miami Horror Remix)

The Australian four-piece, Miami Horror, have quite the knack of knocking out some superb remixes and covers. Take their adaptation of Childish Gambino’s “Sober” for example, it’s just so fluid and delectable to listen to!

Their remix of “Empire Ants” however will equally dazzle you, with atmospheric vocals and some of the most intricate chords we’ve seen from a remix, we can’t recommend it enough.

Kids With Guns (Hot Chip Remix)

Hot Chip are known for their chart-topping hits such as “Ready For The Floor” and “Over And Over”, so when we saw their name next to a Gorillaz track, we knew that we were in for a treat. This remix is a lot more ‘mellow’ compared to the original and has a distinct vibe veering towards the likes of LCD Soundsystem, but delivers in exactly the same way that the original did as well.

DARE (Soulwax Remix)

If you thought you was going to go through an entire list and not see a Soulwax remix on here, you’re wrong. The self-proclaimed kings of remixing, put yet another fantastic rework on the melancholy and distinctive track, “DARE“, with enough electronic beats to keep you satisfied for the six minutes it lasts.

El Mañana (Metronomy Remix)

Metronomy have been pretty busy as of late, releasing new material and playing DJ sets and live shows across the world. This remix off the “D-Sides” album released in 2007, showcases the talent that Metronomy had back then and still continue to congregate.
