French DJ/Producer, Simon Delacroix aka The Toxic Avenger, has finally made his return to the electronic music scene, since his release of Speed (The Toxic Avenger Remix) nearly two years ago. Coming in with a fresh pair of tracks, the Parisian talent has certainly been in the mood to lay down some sinister themes, and you’ll soon see why.
The first track on the release, Over Me, begins with a slow pulsation of pianos, matched with airy vocals and clean drums. From start to finish, the incredible single builds in emotion, creating one of the most reflective atmospheres I’ve heard to date.
Quite a different sound in comparison to his 2007 releases too, right? Mob, the second track on the EP, follows suit with similar musical flavor, though it takes more of an outrun approach, blending synth guitars with stirring bass lines. Don’t think Delacroix has made anything like this before!
Both tracks are set to feature on The Toxic Avenger’s forthcoming album, ☰, which is set for release in February 2016 via Roy Music/Universal France. Check out Over Me and Mob below, tune in for a sneak preview of the album here, and show your support for The Toxic Avenger:
