Smokazzi – Echoes In September

Over the years, Smokazzi has truly made a name for himself, even with a relatively small fan base. He’s shown consistent progression and transformation, with sounds derivative of those who are believed to be his primary source of inspiration, Daft Punk.

From its first few bars to finish, Echoes in September‘s dreamy quality is enhanced with bass notes filled with soul-power and intent. Although completely unique, I can’t help but be reminded of acid jazz/electronic-fusion/indie-dance prodigy Shook by this particular piece. As far as its emotional content is concerned, its masterfully worded lyrics hit home.

If you’re interested in hearing more upbeat works by Smokazzi, High Roller featuring Giorgio de Palo is right up your alley. The variation of mood throughout Smokazzi’s body of work makes it all the more interesting. We’re looking forward to hearing more from him!
