Review: Louis La Roche – To Rest Is To Rust LP

That simple, yet beautiful sound of a needle hitting a record. Louis La Roche’s debut album starts off with Bright Future, a Breakbot-esque track with smooth rhythms which continue onto Let Me Go, a track with a heavy emphasis on Louis’ vocals which work extremely well. Mainline slows down the happy-go-lucky pace, to a much more relaxed and suited speed.

Just Like You was released as a lead single for the debut album and it’s been a track that I’ve grown to love. Original and unique are some ways of describing this absolutely wonderful track. Undercover Lover however, as described in a recent interview with us is a ‘slow 80’s jam, and could be easily be a long lost MJ or Prince track’ and rightly so, as it really hits those right notes!

Tonight and Direct Drive are funky and full of disco elements which make up these two great tracks. Lonely Girl on the other hand, is the only collaboration on the album with British duo Crystal Bats making that track sound just that extra special!

You can buy the album on iTunes or stream it on Spotify!
