Modern-day Frank Sinatra, Mayer Hawthorne, and Jacob Dutton (alias Jake One), hip-hop record producer, make the fabulously funky duo Tuxedo. Having recently released their self-titled album on Stones Throw, their sound has been compared to bands such as Chromeo, yet still maintains its own distinguished vibe. Kaytranada, Montreal-based electronic musician, producer and DJ, takes a spacey indie/hip-hop spin on “The Right Time“, making the perfect soundscape for cutting edge clubs in the urban scene. His most recent work with Towkio on “.WAV theory” consists of clean cut ghetto grooves with Kaytranada’s irresistibly danceable sound for Towkio’s rhymes to rest on. Would definitely keep an eye on both of these fresh acts.
